Aspirations For young people to succeed, they need to feel: That they have some control over their own destiny That they are valued by parents, peers, teachers and others A sense of belonging to a school/ community

Attainment Using PE & sport to improve outcomes in other areas of the curriculum Attainment is quantifiable……… examination results internal testing assessment

Employability Using PE & sport to help young people to ‘future proof’ themselves Enabling them to increase the range & quality of employability or life skills they develop through PE & sport

Why does this matter to schools? Because producing well motivated, well qualified and highly employable young people is the core business of schools Schools are measured on: Quality of teaching & learning Attainment & progress Secondary schools are also measured on: Destinations of their students after school
