Pastafarianism and the Flying Spaghetti Monster

When you joined the school, you said you:- ▪ are a man of faith and are an active member of your local church. ▪ want young people to experience a school where they feel safe and cared for. ▪ are fortunate to have been given the opportunity to lead this school and to build success within it.

▪ As you are a man of faith, you too would understand the frustration of not feeling safe to pray to your God and reflect on your week in private and around people who also pray and reflect. ▪ We do not currently feel that our religion is valued to its full potential in school, and we feel that our personal beliefs are unsafe and uncared for around school. ▪ We do not feel that it would be a success for you to decline our religion in the school, we will feel as though our new head teacher cares about our new-found religion.

What we believe ▪ Pastafarians believe that the world as we know it today was created by the Flying Spaghetti Monster. ▪ The Flying Spaghetti Monster created the world in 4 days, and rested for three. ▪ The FSM is invisible, however he can blend into inanimate objects, where there have been many sightings of him over the years. ▪ We believe that by wearing our colanders, that we are supporting the FSM in his journey through life. ▪ The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is our holy book, and it states that there are no churches to be built around Pastafarianism in order to pay for the homeless to get a house. Why spend £500,000 building a church when you can buy 5 houses for homeless people. ▪ We believe that the decrease of pirates in the world is the sole reason of global warming, this is why pirates are seen as lords in our culture.

Pirates? You can’t be serious! ▪ We are serious, here are some facts about our theory.

Here is a Pastafarian family enjoying family time.

Our religious headwear. ▪ Our religious headwear is a pasta strainer(colander) ▪ We wear this to show respect towards the Flying Spaghetti Monster. ▪ Some people believe that this is an attempt to be silly, it is not, we are absolutely serious.

Why we are telling you this. ▪ We would like: ▪ To have Pastafarianism to be an accepted religion in the school. ▪ Access to a room which can hold up to 15 members of Pastafarianism each Friday 2 nd Lunch to use for prayers and reflection. ▪ Access to the same room every breaktime during Ramendan, and also on the Friday 2 nd Lunch. ▪ The ability to wear our religious headwear during reflection time and during Break and Lunchtime. ▪ A cared-for place in the Thornton Grammar School society, and to be free of ridicule and racism.

Thank you for your time. O Lord of Noodliest Noodles, Please bless us on this holiest of holy days; Friday. On this day, which we devote to You, May our noodles never go soft. My all of your loyal followers be touched by Your noodly appendage, And may our grog ever be cool and drinkable in Thy name. rAmen.
