2 Everybody’s got something they had to leave behind. From Haliburton and Sam Slick and the memories that grew with time. Now the Haliburton House in Windsor, and Sam Slick first started in the Nova Scotian newspaper. Oh this I know but still I can’t find ways to let you go.

3 Chorus: Haliburton went to King’s College And he became a judge too. Then he showed some interest in writing And wrote a total of 6 books. Sam Slick first started 1856, And he was the one who was a “Clockmaker”. The Haliburton house in 1800’s was called Clifton!

4 Haliburton’s writing was particularly popular here. In England and America and Nova Scotia too. After Haliburton retired in 1855, Just like his writing he was just as popular as Mark Twain.

6 The publisher of the newspaper was Joseph Howe! (Repeat X3) O yea yea The year that Haliburton died was 1865! Mr.Haliburton died when he was 69. And some sayings he left behind were “Its raining cats and dogs”, also “Facts are stranger than fiction”. YEA YEA YEA YEA!
