3. Academic Detailing in Norway The vision of our department is to contribute to a better use of drugs and also reduce the use of and increase the knowledge about drugs of abuse. RELIS is a section in our department and is one of four regional medicines information centers in Norway Since 2006 we have been offering GPs different types of pharmacological education/training. Since 2012 we have been studying the method Academic Detailing at NaRCAD and NPS in Adelaide and Sydney We visited Debra Rowett and the National Prescribing Service for 4 weeks and attended their seminars and visits to GPs We also attended seminars and workshops here at NaRCAD And gradually lobbied health authorities In January 2015 we got funding to start our first campaign We invited Debra Rowett from NPS Australia to give an introduction seminar for 20 clinical pharmacologists and pharmacists from all four health regions in Norway Avd. for klinisk farmakologi

5. «Better use of NSAIDs» was our first campaign We visitied 213 of 247 GPs in the cities of Trondheim and Tromsoe during February, March and April this year and 169 answered a Questback after the visit 98 % answered that they got useful information about NSAIDs 99 % answered that the topic was relevant for their practice 92 % said that they would to a great or a certain extent change their practice when prescribing NSAIDs 90 % considered Academic Detailing as a very suitable method for producer independent information 98 % said that they would be happy to receive a new visit on another topic Avd. for klinisk farmakologi

11. «Better use of Antibiotics» is the ongoing campaign We got more funding to do a second pilot and we have now expanded geographically and are going to vistis 450 GPs before Christmas We have delivered our report to The Health Authorities and they asked us to make a plan to expand the method Academic Detailing nationally So on the 1st of November we sent in a plan for national expansion by 2019 and for resources corresponding to $ 3-4 million a year So you can understand that we look forward to Christmas!
