3  Jesus – Born about 2,000 years ago  Raised Jewish  When he was thirty He became known as a healer and teacher  Jesus was followed by 12 apostles & disciples  Authorities felt threatened so he was arrested and sentenced to death  Jesus was crucified (died) & then believed to be resurrected (came back to life)  Christians believe that Jesus was the Messiah (sent by God)
