2.  Malaria is caused by a protozoan called plasmodium.  Malaria is transmitted by the anopheles mosquitoes.  In the human body plasmodium will damage the red blood cells.  They release a toxin which cause a fever.  When taking blood from infected persons the mosquito takes the plasmodium too.

3.  The plasmodium is passed on to other persons in the anopheles saliva when getting blood from that person.

4. Symptoms  Anaemia as a result of red blood cell damage  Fever  Headaches  Pains  Shivering spells  Sweating

5. Malaria Treatment  Drugs such as paludrine, plasmoquine and mepacrine.
