4 REGULATIONS HOW DO YOU ENFORCE REGULATIONS MEANT TO REDUCE RISK? Current regulations do not cover risk reduction but instead focus on historical, cultural, environmental, and infrastructure concerns. DO YOUR MEMBERS UNDERSTAND THE REGULATIONS? DO THEY CHALLENGE THEM? Most community members are unaware of local regulations and no effective enforcement of regulations. WHAT SUPPORT CAN FEMA PROVIDE TO ASSIST YOUR REGULATORY PROCESSES? Educate local leaders and community members on the importance of risk reduction.
