Archaeological Evidence Stones do not lie So, are there stones found that tell the story in the Bible ?

Old challenges from unbelievers Unbelievers used to say that the New Testament is merely “commentary” and that the Biblical text were “invented stories” And crucifixion was NOT used by the Romans as capital punishment in the time of the early century - and therefore, the story of the crucifixion of Jesus was probably a myth....

Stones tell the Biblical accounts Stones will not confirm fictitious stories – like Lord of the Rings (try to find Gondor) Historical accounts are often confirmed by Archaeological finds: –Places, like cities –People –Events and practices in those days

Stones confirming Biblical places Nazareth:

Stones confirming Biblical places The Gospels mention four neighboring and well- populated coastal cities along the Sea of Galilee: Capernaum, Bethsaida, Chorazin, and Tiberias. Jesus performed many miracles in the first three cities. Despite this testimony, these cities rejected Jesus and therefore were cursed by Him (Matt. 11:20-24; Luke 10:12-16). These cities eventually disappeared from history and their locations remained missing for centuries. Their demise fulfills the prophetic condemnation of Jesus.

Stones confirming Biblical places Capernaum:

Stones confirming Biblical places Chorazin :

Stones confirming Biblical places Tiberias :

How about Bethsaida ? Archaeologists are not sure Bethsaida has been found – still checking

Stones confirming Biblical places Pool of Bethesda : John 5:2 Now there is a pool at the Sheep Gate at Jerusalem, which is called in Hebrew Bethesda, having five porches.

Stones confirming Biblical places Pool of Siloam : John 9:7 And He said to him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam

Stones confirming Biblical people in November 1990, Jewish construction workers discovered a burial cave south of Jerusalem containing an ossuary with the name Yehosef bar Caiaphas

Stones confirming Biblical people Herold the Great Herold Antipas Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene …

Stones confirming Biblical events How Jews bury their deaths:

Stones confirming Biblical events That crucifixion was used by Romans in Jesus’ time to execute criminals

Summary Archaeology has confirmed many details in the accounts reported in the Bible Archaeology did not confirm EVERY detail in the accounts in the Bible… BUT Archaeology has NEVER contradicted ANY account reported in the Bible !

One final note Luk 1:1 Since many took in hand to draw up an account concerning the matters which have been borne out among us, Luk 1:2 even as those who from the beginning delivered to us, becoming eye- witnesses and ministers of the Word, Luk 1:3 it seemed good to me also, following all things accurately from the very first, to write to you in order, most excellent Theophilus, Luk 1:4 so that you might know the certainty of those things in which you have been instructed.

In a nutshell The Bible is NOT a story book like the Lord of the Ring The Bible is a HISTORY book Furthermore, the Bible is EXTREMELY accurate The Christian Faith is not BLIND, but based on Historical Facts
