2. What are (I)GCSEs? The (International) General Certificate of Secondary Education Two year courses in Years 10 & 11 which culminates in external examinations. Many of which include internal assessments. Subject syllabi are defined by the examination boards Assessment is on a grade system from A* - U, with A* being the highest. A pass grade is seen by universities to be a ‘C’ grade or above.
