Project Planner Page 1 (5.5) Our dream computer will be used for gaming, web design/development and Adobe Suite.  This computer needs to have the speed of a workstation to handle many applications at once. It has to have high- efficiency to run multiple programs without slowing down the system. It needs to be reliable because we don’t want to worry about random crashes, viruses or malfunctions corrupting our data or delaying our web projects.  Our dream computer needs to be professional, affordable, and user-friendly and compatible with future software.  Our monitor needs to be able to handle at least 60 fps and have enough RAM to store music and download PC games. It needs to be a reasonable size, medium and sleek. We wanted to have a sleek and amazing design along with an ultimate system on the inside to really match how amazing our computer is altogether.

Project Planner Page 1 Cont. 8 Project Planner Page 2 (6.5)  The primary peripherals for this computer are the mouse (selects things), keyboard (type info), monitors (display), and speakers (audio/ sound system). Our secondary peripherals are the game controller (for playing PC games), headphones (private listening), and Wi-Fi-adapter (wireless internet access).  We choose these peripherals because they were premium quality and meet both our gaming and programming needs. We choose a larger type of monitor to accommodate multiple projects on the same screen, we choose gaming speakers because they were more powerful and durable, and we choose the Wi-Fi adapter so we could work on group projects over multiple devices.

Project Planner Page 3  Our dream computer will be multipurpose for business, web development, gaming, and other things. We need to buy Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office 2013, FL Studio 12, Toon Boom Animation and Trend Micro Security for our software.  We choose Adobe because it’s a professional level software that many people in our industry are using. It is very efficient and cost-effective way of getting all the resources we need for web design/development at one time. We’re using Microsoft Office for our presentation software because it’s easy to use and produces quality results at an affordable cost. For animation, we’re going to buy Toon Boom Studio because it’s used by animation giants like Disney, DreamWorks and Ubisoft. It has mobile-compatibility, so we can use it on our tablets as well as our dream computer. It’s also a great community to connect with other designers and animators, trade tips and promote your work.

Project Planner Page 4 (8.8) This computer will be multipurpose for business, web development, gaming and surfing the web. The graphics software we need to buy are Adobe Suite and Toon Boom. We need to buy Microsoft Office for desktop publishing and presentations. We need to buy FL Studio 12 for music production. Trend Micro is necessary for security purposes. Camtasia is needed to record our screen to show the process in which we built our products and show our clients images of the final product. WinRAR is necessary to keep our files in order because we want to be organized and efficient WinRAR is a great tool for organization.

Project Planner Page 5 (9.4) This computer will be used mainly for web development and gaming. We need to buy Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 OEM software for our computer. We choose windows 7 because it allows us to work on multiple assignments simultaneously on the same screen. Each of us, have used Windows 7 in past and know it has a good track record and is very reliable software compared to the rest. We also found the platform that Windows 7 provided was more compatible and simpler to use. We need to buy Adobe Suite for our web design/development projects. We choose Adobe because it’s a professional level software that many people in our industry are using. It has mobile- compatibility, so we can use it on our tablets as well as our dream computer. It’s also a great community to connect with other designers and animators, trade tips and promote your work.

Project Planner Page 5 Cont. We need to buy Camtasia Studio 8.1 for recording live presentations on our desktop screen. We choose this software because it allows interested parties to see what we are working on and the process we used to create our product. It can be used for live stream presentations when coupled with other services like UStream. We choose to use WinRar/7-zip for archiving our data on the dream computer. It’s a free online resource that can convert different file types. We choose Trend Micro as our Internet security because it’s a very comprehensive software that allows you to download on to multiple devices including tablets, laptops and mobile phones. It sends a monthly report to our emails about the threats that were eliminated and when they occurred. You can also download a browser toggle that secures your online information (passwords, addresses, etc.) and shows you which links are safe or dangerous in your search results.

Project Planner Page 6 The networking hardware we need to buy are routers, Ethernet cables, servers, wireless Access points, and modems. These choices allow us to have a stable, reliable, and fast connection.

Project Planner Page 7 This computer will be used for Web Development, PC gaming, and Adobe Suite. We need high-speed internet greater than 50mbps while also being stable because we need to provide maintenance to our websites and to file transfer upload our finished products. We will connect to the internet via Ethernet cables. We made these choices because they fit best for us in our field and were the most quality options while staying in budget.

Project Planner Page 8 (13.5) What this computer will be used for: gaming, business, web/graphic design, and music production What operating system will you install on your group’s computer? Why have you chosen this OS? Our computer will use Windows 7. We thought about using Windows 8 and 10, but due to personal experience as well others reviews we read, those other two have been known to be rather glitch filled. Windows 7 is seemingly been solid without too many problems that can`t be easily fixed. Windows 7 is also very user friendly, only made sense to choose it.
