July 20, 1889 – Hitler is born in Braunau, Austria to Alois Schickelgruber and Klara Hitler 1892 – Hitler’s father passes away 1906 – Hitler’s mother develops terminal breast cancer and is care for by a Jewish doctor. December 1, 1907 – Hitler’s mother dies from her illness. 1913 – Hitler moves to Munich where his hatred for Jews grow. 1914 – He volunteers for military service with 16 th Bavarian Reserve Infantry Regiment, later rewarded the First and Second Class Iron Cross.

December 1918 to March 1919 – Hitler works at a prisoner of war camp in Traunstein. September 1919 – Joined German Worker’s Party. February 1920 – Delivered first speech to a large audience at the Munich Hofbrauhaus. April 1, 1920 – German Worker’s Party is renamed National Socialist German Worker’s Party, or Nazi Party for short. Summer 1920 – Hitler chose swastika as Nazi Party emblem. 1921 – Hitler became leader of the Nazi Party. Early 1923 – Planned to overthrow German Weimer Republic.

November 8, 1923 – Hitler and his brigade attempted to overtake the Bavarian Government in Munich. November 1923 – Hitler was caught and jailed for treason. December 1924 – Released from prison after only serving 6 months. Then created the SS. 1929 – Wall Street collapsed leaving the world and Germany in a huge Recession. 1930 – Hitler campaigned for the Nazi Party promising to get Germany out of the recession. Nazi Party won 6.4 million votes, making it the second largest party in Germany.

February 1932 – Hitler ran for president but lost to Hindenburg. February 25, 1932 – Hitler became German citizen. November 17, 1932 – Hindenburg resigned from office. January 30, 1933 – Without option, Hindenburg appointed Hitler Chancellor. March 23, 1933 – Hitler transferred the Reichstag’s legislative powers to his cabinet. July 14, 1933 – Hitler passed a law stating that the Nazi Party was the only political party allowed in Germany. August 2, 1934 – Hindenburg dies and Hitler names himself “Fuehrer and Chancellor” October 1934 – Hitler over steps Versailles Treaty and makes his army larger.
