Sheridan College HR conducting interview 5 minute Interview - will be marked Competitors MUST bring resume Michelle Brush-Jacklin arranging interview schedule If you filled out a Coordinators Request with a requested interview time we will do our best to accommodate that Age of Competitors ◦ student less than 22 in December

Decide how many competitors you can have in your competition and coordinate with coaches Pick up your Parking Pass from Bernadette today (or e-mail teixeirab@hdsb.ca to request pass) Set up competition night before -April 4 th Coordinate day of and hand-in results Recruit judges for your competition (you can request one pass parking pass for judge) If you have not done so: ◦ E-mail scope to James Templeton and cc: Veronica Kleinsmith

Keep in-line with Ontario Skills Competition Scopes Keep in mind competition must be completed by 3pm at the latest 5 minute interview included (Secondary) Clearly display competition scope and project outside competition location for spectators Scope posted on haltonskills.com

Coordinators determine maximum based on room, resources etc Coordinators MUST contact coaches with specifics Coordinators need of competitors so can order accurate materials On-line Registration closes tomorrow – March 4 th

This closes tomorrow and no hand-written applications can be accepted Sit down with student to register if you have not done this already You will receive 2 e-mails, print both off and make sure the 2 waiver forms are signed Send Secondary to Elin Lochead and Elementary to Bernadette Teixeira Only COMPLETE registration forms can be accepted Incomplete forms will be sent back Check for 2 signatures please

If you have not done so: ◦ Budget needs to be approved by Dave Lewis, talk to him tonight if your budget has not been approved ◦ Please fill out the Coordinators Request or e-mail kleinsmithv@hdsb.ca kleinsmithv@hdsb.ca ◦ Try to get donations of materials where possible ◦ If you have donations please let us (Steve, Chris, Veronica, Dave) know so they can be added to promo material depending on donation level ASAP

Power cables are not supplied Set-up the night before There is security hired for outside of school from 7pm to 7am next morning

All students participating in Elementary Tech and Green Energy competitions must have received safety training for the tools they will be using during the competition Training must happen prior to attending Halton Skills This includes hand saws, hand drills, dolphin cutters, glue guns and scroll saws Coordinators are there to ensure student safety, not to train students who have not been exposed to tools. Morning snack and cheese pizza lunch provided T-shirts provided for competitors to wear Dinner tickets will be given out to competitors with T-shirts by Coordinator Bring refillable water bottles One dinner ticket per competitor Guest dinner tickets are $5 Dinner 4pm-5:15pm 4:30-5:30 entertainment in Gym 5:30 Award Ceremony

Dinner served until 5:15 Award Ceremony at 5:30 Committed to keeping Awards to 45 minutes Elementary and Secondary Awards together Final results announced at these ceremonies Student can fill out ticket to win prizes Prizes given out at end of Awards Ceremony, must be present to win

PARKING LOT A: ORANGE passes for RBHS parking lot ◦ For Coordinators and 1 Judge per competition PARKING LOT B: PURPLE passes for Pineland Baptist Church ◦ For RBHS staff ONLY PARKING LOT C: YELLOW passes for Ascension ◦ elementary drop off in morning ◦ overflow parking after 9 am Nelson Arena Lot with Shuttle Bus ◦ Parking for Competitors, Coaches ◦ Bus runs every 15 minutes starting at 7am ◦ 2 shuttle buses during busy times
