JPRCS Computer Activities A quick look at some of the things we do in Computer Class at JPRCS

First Grade Amari I am a child of God. We play learning games and do projects that reinforce the subject we learn in the classroom, especially reading ad math activities. We review the parts of the computer and basic functions.

Second Grade Our Animal Reports are highlight of the year. We research and use a PowerPoint template. We do seasonal activities and learn a lot about formatting, locating and adding pictures, and reinforce classroom activities, especially in reading and math. The Zebra by Abena

Third Grade Ella Fitzgerald Ella Fitzgerald was born on April 25 th, 1917 and was born in Newport News, Virginia…(4 slides follow)…and that’s the life of Ella Fitzgerald, the Queen of Jazz. We work a lot on keyboarding, expand our formatting and research skills. We do PowerPoint Presentations about Christmas in other countries brief biographies for Black History Month (an example if to the left), and much more!

Fourth Grade In fourth grade we continue keyboarding, do research on presidents, penguins, and learn a lot about Maryland and Maryland history. See the first slide of one of our Maryland reports. Baltimore Museums & Zoos By DaShaun Best zoos in the world!

Fifth Grade We begin coding in fifth grade, which we continue through middle school. We do activities connected to our studies in social studies and language arts. We researched and wrote. Black History biographies. We did PowerPoint reports on Native Americans. (see first page of one on the left.)

Sixth Grade We continue coding in sixth grade. We do activities connected to our studies in social studies, language arts and religion. We do research on Christmas traditions, saints, and famous people. Our first big project is in Excel, where we graph the changing hours of daylight.

Seventh Grade We continue coding, Excel activities, social studies activities, and a highlight is the trading card we make about a saint at All Saints Day (see left)

Eighth Grade In 8 th Grade we continue with Excel, do lots of computer coding, a comparison of high school choices, a final “about Me PowerPoint as well as seasonal activities, Factors Catholic High School Mercy High School Curriculum They have a very excellent curriculum. I love the way how the classes are fun to be in. They had AP and Honors courses. They also have a good curriculum. The classes are a little boring though. They have AP and Honors. Sports I heard their sports teams were all pretty good. The field hockey team does very well. I would like to join the field hockey team because I play field hockey. I also heard some are their teams are good, but not really the field hockey team because they don’t win a lot. Facilities The class rooms all look redone. They are beautiful. They have a lot of new facilities and some old. The class rooms look a little old. They also don’t have air conditioning and that is a little problem. The only things that are new if the library, gym, and auditorium. There are some new facilities and some old. Distance This school is in the heart of the city. It takes like 15 minutes to get there. So that is not far at all. This school is like 20 minutes away from my house. It is very far from my mom’s job though. Religion Catholic school that focuses on religion. Also a Catholic school that focuses on religion. Cost$14,000 a year$13,800 for the year.
