5 Data Meetings Weekly data meetings with teachers to discuss: last weeks test/ assessments student proficency(70% or better), Teaching strategies How to improve those student’s academic performance on COS objectives not mastered.

6 Math 7 th Period Tutoring with Ms. Nguyen- Williams. MMI Coach Math remediation class- Orchard math/10 computers Peer Tutoring 7 th per Orchard math on all math student computers. CFU’s – White boards, CPS units. Teachers implement MMI strategies with inquiry questioning, manipulatives and computer visual aides. Extended Day Math Tutoring Hard at work!

7 Reading AR Program school wide/ 2005-06 42,627 points, Total circulation 28,015 books. Remedial Reading class. Stovall 6 th grade reading Pre-Post AR STAR test 35 minutes SSR Extended day reading help. Begins in October.

8 Writing Monthly Writing Contest. Secondary writing plan implemented Write to three prompts a week. Wireless writers Word walls, vocabulary development. Writing Portfolios Writing Conference & Staff Development 4 Writing Modes developed in 6 th & 7 th grades.

9 Language Arts Grammar Activities 3 days a week as a bell ringer. Al COS guidelines CFU’s daily Classroom libraries Use researched instructional strategies. Technology in use!

10 Science Supplemental strategies: Brain Pop, sciencesaurus, edhelper.com. Visual aides,foldables, CPS units, United Streaming and labs used with daily instruction. Frequent Assessments NSTA Convention Vocabulary Development

11 SACS Accreditation We completed our SACS review for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools with High commendations. High Quality support for student learning Art program matches any in the nation Shared vision among staff and administration A collective shared goal to provide a responsive and nurturing atmosphere for living and learning.

12 Social Studies Local curriculum aligned Staff Development Critical thinking skills developed. Continuous assessment of student understanding through CPS units,wait time, and conventional methods. Collaboration among SS teachers of content materials and resources.
