3. WHAT IS ELECTRICITY? Electricity is a force of strong power. Electricity is used for light and other things. All things are mostly used by the force and power of electricity. All around us is electricity and is always used by all people. Here is a fast fact about electricity Electricity was supplied to peoples homes for the first time in 1879.

4. HOW TO MAKE A FULL CIRCUIT You will need: 2 wires with crocodile clips on a bulb a cell ( a cell is another word for a battery) 1.First clip the wires onto the cell and the other ends to the screws of the bulb and it will light up. 2.Check everything is attached safely. 3.Investigate how to make two bulbs light or how to make your bulb brighter. Finally you can enjoy the most beautiful light that you have made. Well Done

HOW ELECTRICITY WORKS Electricity is powered by a cell ( That is a battery) and if you add more wires and more bulbs to your circuit the light will be dimmer because it has to share more power because the more bulbs you add to your circuit you have a dimmer light shade because the light is dimmer.

ELECTRICITY SAFETY Electricity facts 1.Always be safe with electricity. 2.Never touch the top of a bulb with wet hands. 3.Stay away from electrical use like cookers and microwaves because it will hurt you and will also cause a bad injury to you. 4.Don’t throw buckets of water on anything electrical and on fire call the fire brigade. 5.But most of all be safe around electricity no matter where you are !!!

7. What we did We read lots about different things linked with electricity and compared all our texts. We had to summarise the main points and we predicted before we read and asked lots of questions. We talked about all our texts and while we were investigating found out more about what we were doing and why. I liked finding out about people who first started exploring electricity – Thales (noticed that when amber rubbed with wool it acquired the power to attract light objects such as straw and feathers) then there was William Gilbert, who said ‘electricity’ (after the Greek word for Amber). Next Benjamin Franklin flew a kite in a thunderstorm in 1752 to prove that lightning is electrical in nature. He invented the lightning conductor.

9. PHOEBES READING When I was younger I was really fond of reading. But when I met my teacher Mrs Miller, I then knew somebody who felt the same way as I did about books. And ever since I met my teacher I now feel that books are my life and that’s never going to change.
