Location Brookdale Elementary School is located at 394 Brookdale Drive Orangeburg, SC 29115.

Description of the School Basic information about the school and their school report based on the State of South Carolina.

Description of Classroom In the pre- Kindergarten class, they have a total of 16 students, 10 girls and 6 boys. All of the students are African American. These students are led by one teacher and one teacher’s assistant. (This is not the actual classroom.)

Bulletin Boards In the classroom. Displays children work after learning about the letter B. Outside the classroom. Displays the high frequency words they are currently learning.

Classroom Displays The teacher poses questions to the students in the class; the students are then required to write their name under the answer of their choice. For example if they are a car rider, they would write their name under the car.

Classroom Displays Students are required to sign in every morning. This helps with their writing skills Standards, objectives, high frequency words, daily schedule, assignments.

Materials and Resources Materials/Resources in the science center: Chalk, googles, books, gloves, etc. Resources: Big books, record player, cd player Resources: Literary Practice Cards Laptop and SmartBoard used for large group instruction and math manipulatives.

This pre-k classroom is set up for whole group and small group instruction. Students sit on the carpet for whole group and for small group, there are two tables in the classroom for them and they also have a teacher a each table to help. It is also set up to where they can explore in centers (Art, reading, writing blocks)
