Juan Ponce de Leon expedition was in 1513. He went to Present day Florida. Ponce de Leon expedition was to look for gold and The Fountian of Youth using his own money. Spain and the church gave him only three years for his expedition. Ponce de Leon's real expedition was was to conquer new lands for Spain. He took three ships, and 200 men on his expedition. He enslaved the Native Americans. Ponce de Leon found the Gulf Stream, a current in the ocean that helped the Eurpeans go back home, and found gold in Puerto Rico. Juan Ponce de Leon exedition was successful.

Juan Ponce de Leon voyage was successful because he found gold in Puerto Rico and became the governor. He was ordered by Spain to create a small army to control the attacks of Native Indians living in Puerto Rico. Native Americans died that day. Juan Ponce de Leon brought diseases in Puerto Rico that killed Native Americans. Juan Ponce de Leon did what he was told to do.
