3 Today is Monday, November 9, 2015  You will need your: ◦ Writing utensil ◦ Planner and ◦ Language Arts journal ◦ SpringBoard book Announcements: Harvest/Holiday baskets. Who needs one? Tutoring after school today in this room. Volleyball starts next week.

Practice Activities  I will review what setting is and what I need to include when setting is requested.  I will review the incident-response-reflection structure, so that I may rewrite my “Imagination” paragraph.  I will either rewrite my personal reading book setting assignment, my incident- response-reflection paper, (using the proper paragraph format) or read if I have A’s on both papers and they are formatted properly.  I will be informed of my missing assignments. Success Criteria  I will have written effective setting and incident-response-reflection paragraphs.  I will know how many missing assignments I have.

7  When someone asks you to explain the setting of a story, what must you tell them to be an effective college-bound communicator?  Time and Place  Here are your setting paragraphs. You need to rewrite them if they are incomplete.  How many people wrote just one paragraph for this assignment?

8  What is incident-response-reflection structure?  Turn to page 13.  What is incident?  What is response?  What is reflection?  Here are your papers. Please rewrite them if needed.
