2. Kirovohrad is not famous by its places of interest, but the downtown still bears the remnants of old architecture. Some of the old buildings are renovated and some are still in the process of renovation. A lot of things still remind its past times. So, we’d like to tell you about our town via pictures which we painted ourselves

3. The fortress which gave the birth for our tow was built in the shape of a rectilinear hexagon and had two gates east and west ones. We can easily see the contours of the fortress from the plane even now. Settles grew up around the fortress. This year (1754) is considered to be the date of founding the town Elisavetgrad

4. In1939 our town was given the name Kirovograd. Now it is a regional centre which is in the very centre of Ukraine The picture was made by Ihor Anashkin

5. Nature in Kirovohrad is picturesque and admirable. The flora of Kirovohrad region is very rich. Fields around. Meadows account for more than 250 kinds of herbs. The variety of fauna of Kirovohrad region is also impresses very much. There are many kinds of animals there, including unique rare relict animals. As we have said Kirovohrad is surrounded by forests, where live elks, deer, hares, foxes, wild geese, ducks, etc.

7. There are many famous places of interest and culture in Kirovohrad.Now we want to tell you about our theatre. It is famous all over Ukraine, because it was the first professional theatre in Ukraine. As far as we remember from our lessons of Ukrainian literature, it was founded in 1882 by M.L.Kropyvnitsky.The theatre building is one of the most wonderful buildings in Kirovohrad. Last year the theatre was rebuild and people like it very much. As for me it is a good place to have a rest and enjoy beautiful plays.

10. The people in Kirovohrad are friendly and easygoing. If you need any help in showing the way or finding the necessary places, you can ask any citizen of our town without any hesitations. In addition,Kirovohrad is well-known for some famous people who were born here. Among them: VolodymyrVynnychenko, Marko Kropyvnytsky, YevhenKonoplyanka, AndriyPyatov.

It consists of tasty and nutritious dishes.More over, Kirovohradian hostesses have a reputation of the best ones in preparing festive food.For example, on holidays such as: Easter and Christmas, they always make special dishes.Holodets, Krychenyky, Holubtsy, Deruny, Pyrizhky, baked meat are the most popular these days
