Introducing … AUTOMATIC MACHINE MONITORING P.U.L.S.E
2
WHY MONITORING? PULSE WAS DESIGNED ON THE PREMISE THAT YOU WANT TO GET MORE FROM YOUR MACHINES Machines represent the biggest capital investment in any shop Machining consumes more than half of the mold build hours
3
? WHY MONITORING? 1.Machines are running with a minimum of idle time 2.Feed-rates are kept high Then the machines are considered to be well utilized … BUT ARE THEY REALLY OR IS IT ONLY A PERCEPTION? COMMON PRACTICE SUGGESTS THAT IF:
4
WHAT’S MONITORED ? PULSE PROVIDES QUANTATIVE INFORMATION ACTUAL FEED RATES Real-time Averaged over time PRODUCTIVE TIMES Current status of components on machines Current operation type Current tool in spindle Machine utilization Total machining time for each component Cumulative times for each operation type per component NON-PRODUCTIVE TIMES Idle Frequent changes in scheduling Improper use of tool changers Cutting tool shortages Data delays Setups Crane unavailable
5
WHAT IS IT USED FOR ? PULSE PROVIDES MANAGING TOOLS Alarms Action tools via e-mails Real-time displays Scheduled reports Communication with your ERP or Scheduling programs
6
USING LEMOINE PATENTED TECHNOLOGIES WE CAN : HOW DO WE MONITOR? Interface Pulse to all machines Automatically detect the current part and what operations are being performed Measure motion of all axes, Setup times, Utilization and feed-rates
7
HOW DO WE MONITOR? WHAT MACHINES ARE MONITORED? 3D high-speed machines 3D roughing machines Component machines Gundrills Plate Machines Boring Mills Electrode Cutting machines EDM Wire EDM

< BackForward > Click on a green area and see information about the job name, component name and type of operation on the machine
15
< BackForward > Click on a yellow area and see the reason for the idle time
16
Reasons for idle times (yellow) and their weight. Orange bar: cumulative short stops of less than 10 minutes.
17
-Utilization report for 1 month period -Machine name -Percent utilization for each shift

About Us Multinational Technologies Inc. Multinational Technologies Inc. Lemoine Multinational Technologies Inc. was incorporated in the United States in 1988 and begun its activities distributing digitizing systems and later on HSM systems to improve the feed rates in machining molds and dies accurately. In 1991 Lemoine introduced a breakthrough in 3-D machining of molds and dies with the installation of the first ‘shop floor’ cam system in a General Motors modernized tool room in Ohio. At present Lemoine operates in North America, Europe and Asia, promoting advanced technologies in machining of molds and dies of all kinds, including injection, compression and blow molds as well as aluminum die-cast tools and form dies.
