JIHAD ROLE OF WOMAN IN ISLAM Means “holy war” struggle and striving for Islam. Often times misused as a fundamental principal by terrorist groups. The concept of jihad has been hijacked by many political and religious groups over the ages in a bid to justify various forms of violence. Jihad is not a violent concept. It can refer to internal as well as external efforts to be a good Muslims or believer, as well as working to inform people about the faith of Islam. Woman in Arab societies wore veils to cover themselves before the time of Islam. Hijab is often used as a general term for the veil of Muslim woman. Muslim woman wear the veil as a sign of modesty. Some outsiders of Islam see it as a sign of control by Muslim men over their woman. Muslim woman have rights with divorce and rights over property and children.
