 Test Bench › Safe › Reliable › Robust › Mobile  Traction Control System › Reduce Front Wheel Lift › Reduce Rear Wheel Slip

 Test Bench › Frame › A-Frame/motor cycle mounting › Wheel Base Adjustment › Rolling Road Resistance  Traction Control System › 3 inputs: Front WSS, Rear WSS, Accelerometer › Reduce throttle by PWM during wheel spin › Data logging via USB connection to PC

 Mechanical Testing  Electrical Testing › Verified 48VDC-to-5VDC conversion › Verified voltage level isolation › Isolated motor with Emergency Stop switch › Successfully powered wheel speed sensors & received pulses › Implemented traction control algorithm on microcontroller

 1) Problem: Unexplained electrical noise at microcontroller  2) Suspected Sources: Motor controller or motor  3) Behavior: Throttle between Idle & Wide Open  4) Diagnostic Steps: › Added reverse protection diode to DC-to-DC converter (no change) › Added triple capacitive filtering network to motor terminals (no change) › Disconnected DC-to-DC converter (all noise gone)  5) Solution: Discovered incorrect WSS wiring

 Successes › Test stand › Sensor mounting & wiring › Power distribution circuitry › Functional algorithm using wave form generators  Shortcomings › Providing rear wheel resistance › Minimal testing (long construction time) › Back-ordered parts › Accelerometer not implemented › Inability to accurately determine wheel speed

 Flatten rims  Provide resistance to rear wheel  Additional sensors to better track bike parameters  Integration of fully built race bike  Enclosure/Casing

 Probe WSS with oscilloscope  Prevent inter-pin interference by distancing the input pins  Determine minimum frequency of input pulses for accurate microcontroller operation and reason for limit  Test PWM of the motor controller throttle  Connect and mount the accelerometer
