1 PRESENTED BY AURARIA CAMPUS STUDENT DIETETIC ASSOCIATION CAMI MARTIN  CO-VICE PRESIDENT LEIGHZA BAASCH  TREASURER CHRIS SHELTON  CO-PRESIDENT Healthy Cooking Through the Holidays

2 Nature of the event  A on-campus cooking demonstration that will focus its reach to the MSU student population but will also be open to the rest of the Auraria campus population  Pre-determined menu will be served to participants during the event  Chef David Beckwith and registered dietitian Rosanne Woloschuk will work together to speak about tips and techniques for eating healthy and on a budget during the holiday season  Event date is Wednesday, November 5 th at 6 – 8 p.m.  Location will be in the Hospitality, Tourism, and Events room 208 (HTE 208)  Booked by the Co-President, Chris Shelton  75 attendees are expected

3 Event Outcomes  From this event attendees will learn:  How to prepare a items on the holiday menu that will be demonstrated  How to remain healthy by choosing healthier choices and using tips that both the Chef Beckwith and Rosanne Woloschuk supply  Obtain budget tips when preparing recipes and meal plans during the holiday season

4 Budget  Food cost quote is $275.00  Itemized out for King Soopers and Walmart grocery store prices  Speaker honorarium quote is $300.00 - $150.00 for each speaker  Chef David Beckwith a Restaurant Management Professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver  Rosanne Woloshuk, a registered dietitian who specializes in renal practices at The Children’s Hospital  Supply quote is $75.00  Itemized out for King Soopers and Walmart grocery store prices  Total: $650.00 proposed budget

5 Marketing Event promotion will be via: Word-of-Mouth In-classes (in-person and online), meetings, study sessions, etc. Flyers posted around campus on designated campus event boards, especially in high traffic areas and common areas Social media outlets such as: ACSDA Facebook Page – Creation of event link within the page and invitation sent to members electronically Orgsync Email newsletter to all club members Event will be added to ACSDA website at: www.aurariacampusstudentdieteticassociation.com www.aurariacampusstudentdieteticassociation.com Tivoli LED Board

6 Involvement of Members in Event Planning Cami Martin, Co-Vice President (Fall 2014) – Lead student for the event and will assist in promotion of event Chris Shelton, Co-President (Fall 2014) – Room logistics, contact for Chef David Beckwith, organization for the demonstration of cooking the menu items Ashley Pomata, President – Contact for Rosanne Woloschuk to speak about healthy cooking and eating techniques Leighza Baasch, Treasurer – Research and submission of event funding proposal, aid in marketing event promotion Sarah Ziherl, Social Media and Webmaster – Aid in raising awareness, event promotion via print, word-of-mouth, and media outlets Other club members to assist with raising awareness and promotion in regards to the event and assisting with event set-up and clean-up
