2. What is an Entrepreneur?  An entrepreneur is a person who starts and runs their own business.  What types of businesses are there? Entrepreneurs do all sorts of tasks:  Plan ideas  Raise money  Operate the business  Calculate financial data

You are the Entrepreneur…  You are going to own and operate your own restaurant  The first decision you need to make is which type of food you would like to feature at your restaurant.  The best way to do this is to create a survey to find out which type of food is most popular  If you serve food people really like your restaurant will make money & be successful

4. How will we do this? Microsoft Excel will help us to:  Record data  Calculate data  Create graphs  Share information with others  Store data

5. Part 1 – Survey  To organise the start-up of your restaurant business you must find out what your classmates like to eat.  We are going to conduct a survey to find out what food your classmates like to eat

Types of Cuisine… Italian – (spaghetti bolognaise, pasta, pizza) Chinese – (spring rolls, noodles, fried rice) Japanese – (sushi, miso soup, teriyaki chicken) American – (burgers, fries) Mexican – (chilli con carne, burritos, tacos) Indian – (curries, poppadom's, rice) Seafood – (prawns, fish, oysters)

9. Put the data into excel 1. Open the business survey spreadsheet 2. Save a copy to your personal drive 3. Enter the data 4. Create a chart

10. Use the snipping tool to take a screenshot of your table and chart. Save it in your Term 1 folder.

11. Cuisine Research (15mins)  Make a popplet about the different types of food that belong in the Entrée  Starters  Main course  Desert  Click on the button on Fiastech.  Click on settings – export – jpeg.

12. Let’s review Microsoft Excel  Open the task 2 - Label spreadsheet  Match the numbers with the correct label.  Save a copy to your Term 1 folder  We will upload all our work to Weebly in the next lesson
