Diversity The Census Bureau does not have an official definition for “minority” One way to measure the Nation’s diversity is to combine both Hispanic Origin and Race White Not Hispanic All other race and Hispanic or Latino groups

Growing Diversity White Not Hispanic Population Still the largest population group, but it’s growing slowly 19901990: 188.1 million or 76% of the total population Up 6.4 million -- an increase of 3% since 1990 20002000: 194.6 million or 69% of the total population
