4. Procedures  Enter quietly  SCAN your books. This is new! Listen for the beep.  Walking only  Place library card in the box  Wait for directions - story area or tables

5. Choosing a Book  Get a book on your reading level.  Use a stick to save a place on the shelf.  Each book has a home on the shelf.  Return books to the cart if you don’t know where they belong.  The call number is the “street address.”

7. Checkout  Two books for two weeks  Grades 3,4,5- one picture and one chapter book  Get library card  Put stick away  Line up at counter with books and card  Return quietly to class after checkout  Overdue books = no checkout

8. Book Care  Clean hands  No food and drink  Don’t take to cafeteria, bathroom or outside  Don’t write in or draw  Use a bookmark – don’t bend pages  Protect from pets and small children  Don’t read and walk  Remember where you keep your book!
