3. Project Second Wind Monday, February 22 – Friday, February 26 Today is our day 2 of Project Second Wind. It was a slow start yesterday. Our big giver yesterday was Quincy Dunn. As you enter the school each morning this week Student Council members will be there collecting food and money. Our goal is to collect nearly 6000 pounds of food. Each dollar donated is worth 4 lbs of food. Students contributing the equivalent of $100 worth of food will receive individual recognition at the end of the week. Let’s give big this week! 2-23-16

Project Second Wind February 22 – February 26 Oregon Food Bank needs these nutritious foods: - canned meats (i.e., tuna, chicken, salmon) - canned and boxed meals (i.e., soup, chili, stew, macaroni and cheese) - peanut butter and other nut butters - canned or dried beans and peas (i.e., black, pinto, lentils) - pasta, rice, cereal - canned fruits and vegetables - 100 percent fruit or vegetable juice (canned, plastic or boxed) - cooking oil - shelf-stable milk -consider donating healthy, low-fat and low-sugar products To ensure food safety, Oregon Food Bank cannot use: - rusty or unlabeled cans - perishable items (applies only to food drive donations) - homemade items - noncommercial canned or packaged items - alcoholic beverages, mixes or soda - open or used items 2-23-16
