Spectrometer A spectrometer is an instrument used by scientist to study the Sun and other stars. This instrument splits the light given off by a star into a band of colors like a rainbow.

Asteroid The definition of an asteroid is a rocky mass that orbits the sun.

Corona a ring of colored light seen around a luminous body, as the sun or moon, formed by the diffraction of light caused by mist, dust, etc.

Penumbra/Umbra Penumbra The definition of a penumbra is the lighted area around the shadow of a planet or moon during an eclipse. Umbra The definition of a umbra is the shadow of Earth while an eclipse.
