Introduction Chinese New Year is very important to the Chinese people. It is 15 days long and very important. It is actually the longest and most important holiday on the Chinese calendar. Here is some information about the Chinese New Year.

Traditional celebrations During the Chinese New Year celebrations and parades there are also lots of traditions some of them are… Spring cleanings, feasts, fire works, and family gatherings. People dress in nice clothes, traditional cakes are distributed among family members, fruits, candies, and ornamental packages of tea are given to friends as gifts, and fire crackers are set off to ward off evil spirits. When Chinese New Year is Chinese New Year starts with the new moon on the first day on the first day of the New Year and ends on the full moon 15 days later. Chinese New Year is the longest holiday on the Chinese calendar!

The lantern festival The 15 th day of the Chinese New Year is called the lantern festival. The lantern festival is celebrated at night with lantern displays and children carrying lanterns in parades. The main attraction of the lantern festival in the lanterns. Many lanterns are made to reflect historical Chinese themes.
