Clouds 3.03 Describe and analyze the formation of various types of clouds and discuss their relation to weather systems.

Stratus Clouds Low lying clouds that blanket the sky.
Drizzle, overcast days accompany these types of clouds.

Cumulus Clouds Low lying, puffy, fluffy clouds.
These clouds are a sign of good weather. These clouds can bring rain that is usually heavy with large drops.

Cirrus Clouds Cirrus Clouds are high, wispy, featherlike clouds.
These clouds are made of ice crystals. These are present when the weather is good. They signify a change of weather is coming.

Cumulonimbus Clouds Cumulonimbus clouds are also called “ thunderheads”. These clouds develop vertically. These clouds are the only clouds that can produce hail.
