The Civil Rights Movement was a move forward so African Americans could have equal rights. Martin Luther King lead the March to Washington in 1963. This was the largest demonstration for jobs and freedom.

Martin Luther King, Jr. gave the “I Have a Dream Speech” 250,000 black and white Americans marched together singing and celebrating changes. Josephine Baker introduced several African American women fighters Rosa Parks and Floyd Mckissick were two civil rights leaders who marched with the other 250,000 people
