2. ISNAR and Its Future Activities in the CAC Region ISNAR seeks funding for 2 project proposals: Studies of agricultural innovation systems Linkages b/w malaria and agriculture

3. Proposal 1. Agricultural Innovation Systems ISNAR has recently developed a conceptual framework to study AISs. This framework has been successfully applied to examine the AIS of Azerbaijan. The framework is a useful tool for setting priorities of the AIS. Similar studies should be conducted for the other CAC countries.

4. Proposal 2. Linkages b/w Malaria & Agriculture CG centers, jointly with UNDP, WHO, and others, have launched SIMA. Malaria control strategies require a strong coordination of activities in the agricultural, health & the environment sectors. ISNAR and WHO are currently investigating linkages b/w malaria & agriculture in Azerbaijan. Now malaria threatens a large population in Tadjekistan and Uzbekistan, and hence deserves to be examined

5. Expected Outputs Building capacity to respond to cross-sector demands training program on the AIS approach applications of sophisticated GIS tools to map malaria Develop a framework for setting priorities of the AIS
