Statistical or Non- Statistical?

Statistics- deals with collecting, organize, and interpreting data. Data- information Statistical questions- a question that anticipates and accounts for a variety of answers. This is a questions that has different answers. Not statistical questions- a question that has one correct answer.

How many toppings do you like on your pizza? (What type of data is this?) I will record the results on the chart paper. Afterwards, we will analyze the results. Turn to pg 807 and we will answer the questions together.

Out to Dinner Task: Last night, Jennifer and her family went out for dinner. The questions below came up on their way to the restaurant or during the meal. Decide whether or not each question is a statistical question, and justify your decision. 8) How far are we from the restaurant? 9) How long will it be until we get there? 10) Would Jennifer rather have burgers or pizza? 11) How much should we leave for the tip? 12) What was the first dish ordered in the restaurant this evening? 13) Do customers at the restaurant like pizza? 14) What is a typical bill for tables at this restaurant? 15) On average, how many people were sitting at each table this evening?
