5 Families Extended Family Is where 3 or 4 generations live together or within close proximity and have regular contact with of each other. Nuclear Family Is where 2 people either married or cohabiting with each other with their children.

6 Families Reconstituted Family Is where individuals form a relationship with someone who does not have children. This leads to at least one step parent. Lone-parent Family This consists of one parent (90%female) and their children. What reasons could they be alone?
