Organisms Prokaryotes and Eukaryotes
2
Prokaryotes Known as Bacteria! (The stuff that can make you sick!) Bacteria lack a nuclei. Microbes are the oldest form of life on Earth. Some types have existed for billions of years. These single-cell organisms are invisible to the eye, but they can be seen with microscopes.
3
Prokaryotes Microbes live in the water you drink, the food you eat, and the air you breathe. Right now, billions of microbes are swimming in your belly and crawling on your skin! Don't worry, over 95% of microbes are harmless.
4
Prokaryotes Bacteria that is found under the human toe nail!
5
Prokaryotes Common cold Virus! Strep Throat virus!
6
Eukaryotes Protists, fungi, plants, and animals are made of eukaryotic cells. Eukaryotes are much larger than prokaryotes and have more structures inside their cells.
7
Eukaryotes Protists: Some members unicellular and yet others are multicellular. All the cells are similar with similar, generalized functions. The “body” of the organism consists of a variety of types of cells, each type with its own specialized function(they have a true nucleus).
8
Eukaryotes They all need some kind of a water-based environment--which can be fresh or marine water. All are aerobic and have mitochondria for cellular respiration, and some have chloroplasts for photosynthesis. Protists are a major component of plankton.

Eukaryotes Paramecium Plankton
