1. Did you know that there are over 200 ways to say “went”? On your desk is your synonmym of “went”. Your job today is to illustrate the word “went” and use it correctly in a sentences. We will be using them for a Word Wall. Make sure that you have a whiteboard marker at your desk and your slate/whiteboard.

2. Dear Friends, A few weeks ago I got an Ipad. I did not want one for the longest time, but finally changed my mind. Write about something that you did not want and when you finally got it, you were glad. It could be a toy, food that you never tasted before-whatever you can think of. Write your answer in your Writers Notebook. – Write about why you didn’t want it – When and how you got it – What made you change your mind – How you feel about it now.

3. Dear Spring Chickens, Believe it or not! Spring is coming soon. What is one thing that you look forward to in spring? Write about it in your Writers Notebook.
