24 th December = Christmas Eve: Children hang up their stockings by the chimney or on the ends of bed for Santa Claus / Father Christmas who comes and lets them something. 25 th December = Christmas Day: On the morning people open boxes with their presents, in the afternoon they visit their neigbours or other family members. 26 th December = Boxing Day: It could be celebrated by giving gifts or donations to the poor and needy

24 th December – Christmas Eve: At about 6 o'clock p. m. people eat Christmas Dinner. Then they go to the Christmas tree and open boxes with their presents. Some people go to the church at midnight. 25 th December = First Day of Christmas 26 th December = Second Day of Christmas / St. Stephen's Day

In America gives Christmas presents Santa Claus. He is named after St. Nicholas, who was born in 4 th century and he was a real person. Now, it is said he lives on the North Pole with Mrs. Claus, reindeers and elves. Children write him letters, what gifts they would to get. In Great Britain he is named Father Christmas. In Slovakia gives presents Little Jesus during Christmas Dinner. When people are ready to go to the Christmas tree, he rings bells and goes out.
