2. PROLOGUE In 1900,a candy store looked different to what it looks like now. Did you know candy was not wrapped in wrappers. Shop clerks put candy into bags one at a time. Milton Hershey worked at a candy store. Milton was famous because he brought chocolate to America.

3. FACTS September 13 1857 is when Milton was born he was born in Hockersville Pennsylvania. Milton's family was very poor. Milton's sister Sarena died when she was 5 of scarlet fever.

4. JOBS Milton's first job was working for a printer it did not work out. In 1876 Milton took his first big step into business. When Milton was 19 he owned his own candy store. Milton worked so hard that in 1881 he had to close his candy store. By early 1980s the co. that made caramels had two factory's and more than thirteen hundred workers. Hershey also invented his own caramels. Milton was the one who brought chocolate to America.

5. WIFE In1893 another trip changed Milton's life. Hershey did not tell anyone that he was married to Cathreen. For short they call her Kitty. Kitty was only 16 when she married Milton. Milton and Kitty could not have anyone kids because of a illness Kitty had.

6. BUILDING In 1904 Milton built a library and a post office. In 1905 Milton built a bank so all of his workers could save all of their money. Also Milton built a zoo. Also in 1907 Milton opened a park for all residents. In 1909 Milton and Kitty built a school for orphan boys. In 1910 Milton built a grocerystore close to his house so that he did not haft to go far to shop.

7. NEW CREATION Milton created a new product called the sweet tarts. In 1907 Milton changed the name to Hershey kisses. In 1900 Hershey sold the Lancaster co. for 1 million dollars. If you go to Hershey Pennsylvania the street lights are Hershey Kisses.

8. DIED After years of poor health in March 25 1915 Milton's wife Kitty dyed. Milton had trouble breathing he had Pneumonia on October 13 1945 Milton dyed.
