History The federal prison was found in 1933 (1933-1963) Alcatraz prisoners were considered as the most dangerous ones in United States ''Escape from the prison would be impossible'' There has been 14 escape attempts: attended by 34 prisoners, 2 of them tried to escape twice – 7 were shot – 2 drowned – 5 unknown – The rest were caught

June, 1962 three men managed to escape from the prison and they were never found They were thought to be drowned, but some people believe they survived from the island The escape was sensational; no one ever got as far and the way they did it was incredible It's the most famous escape of Alcatraz They even made a film about it, ''Escape from Alcatraz (1979)''
