Declarative Sentence - A declarative sentence makes a statement. - Example: I like to read. - This is the most common kind of sentence. - A declarative sentence uses a period.

Interrogative Sentence - A interrogative sentence asks a question. - Example: What are you doing? - A question gets the readers attention - An interrogative sentence uses a question mark.
