Terylene fabric is a synthetic polyester fibre based on terephthalic acid. It is characterised by weightlessness and crease resistance. Terylene is mostly used for clothing, ropes, sheets, sails and many others. The name 'terylene fabric' may also refer to any large class of synthetic fabric.

Terylene is a synthetic polyester fibre produced by polymerizing ethylene glycol and terephthelic acid which is obtained from petroleum I t has created as a “Ready Market” as “made-Up” garments as they will take permanent pleats when subjected to the correct temperature, at the time of manufacturing. It is mixed with natural fibre like cotton and wool to make more variety of clothes.

 Terylene is a synthetic polyester fibre produced by ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid. ..

 Ethylene glycol is an organic compound primarily used as a raw material in the manufacture of polyester fibers and fabric industry. o Terephthalic acid is the organic compound. This colourless solid is a commodity chemical, used principally as to make clothing and plastic bottles

 Terylene is a strong fibre and suffers very little loss of strength when wet.  It is elastic and resists creasing. It can be set into permanent pleats when heated to the correct temperature.  It is absorbent to only a very limited extend; it is easily washed and dries quickly. It requires little ironing.

 Terylene is smooth and soft resists abrasion;it, therefore wears well.  It is not injured by alkaline or acid substances nor do bleaches or dry cleaning harm it.  It is moth proof and is unaffected by other insects.

Uses Of Terylene

TTerylene is mainly used in making plastic bottles and clothing.

IIt is also used for making- 1.Terylene fiber is used as polyester tricot knit as a fashion garments fabric. 2.Used for the laundry usage as a automatic clothing vacuum packaging machine. 3.It is used to make nonwoven needle punched carpet particularly for the exhibition use.
