Introduction What slithers but isn’t a snail? What eats a lot but isn’t a whale? It’s a snake! Snakes are very interesting creatures you can learn about snakes if you read this book.

Inside a snake Snakes lie in hot places that’s because they are cold blooded. A snake is as warm as the environment it’s in. A snakes nose is on it’s head this allows them to breathe and smell even when they are swimming.

What’s for lunch? Like a lot of snakes snakes are meat eaters or a carnivore. Snakes can eat big things about the size of a deer. Snakes hunt at night. A snake hides in the water and waits until an animal comes near it the snake grabs it very fast and eats it.

Young Snakes A newborn snake is about 2 feet (0.6 meter) long Young snakes eat fish, frogs and small rodents. Male and female snakes mate in the spring.

Home sweet home Snakes live in warm and wet places. Snakes always live near wet places. Because they live near wet places they are sometimes called water boa’s.
