The flag of Madagascar was adopted on 14 October 1958, two years before the independence of that nation, as Madagascar prepared for a referendum on its status in the French Community. 3 HOW IT ALL BEGAN The world began with a gigantic island called Pangaea, after 88 million years , the world separated into 7 other continents. Madagascar broke off India and became its own island. Madagascar is the 4th largest island on the planet, the capital being Antananarivo. PANGAEA
