Our Goal Our goal is to provide area office professionals with professional development that is high-quality, proactive and responsive to their needs in order to support their vital role of supporting student success. 1. Are we on the right track? 2. What are next steps?

3 Guiding Pillars 1. Strength Based PD- Intentional focus on how strengths can help one improve & fuel success. 2. Growth Mindset (Carol Dweck, 2008)- When one sees her/himself as capable of growth through diligent effort, the sky is the limit. 3. Purpose (Daniel Pink, 2013)- Employees are motivated by the connection between their work and larger meaning.

PD topics: - Hot topics: Ebola, concussions - Handling topics in the news (Flu shots, etc.) - Communicating with parents, staff, students - How to help teachers understand what to send to the nurse and what to handle in classroom - Orientation: transitioning from hospital to school setting - Time management -Diagnosing students & communicating thereafter
