2. The people of the Woodlands are divided into two main groups, -The Iroquois ( Woodlands farmers) -The Algonquians ( Woodlands hunters). This is based on the roots of their languages and their main source of food These tribes lived in the woods in the Eastern U.S. and Canada

3. The most important animal to the Woodlands Hunters (Iroquois) was the white-tailed deer. White-tailed deer were hunted for their meat, but the skins were also dried and used in making their houses and clothing. They also hunted: raccoon bear squirrel beaver moose seal caribou The Algonquian people of the Woodlands were hunter-gatherers, meaning they relied on collecting edible plants and hunting wild animals as their main source of food. They did farm corn and tobacco.
