MS. MEYERS COMPUTER INFORMATION

Expectations at Farley Farley students will follow Huntsville City Schools code of conduct. Student handbooks are on all student laptops. All students are taught to respect each other, all adults, and equipment. All of the staff at Farley work to teach students safe and proper use of technology. We model daily the proper use and have a unified approach so that our students always know what is expected of them. Students will treat all equipment with respect Never leave computer unattended ( it is picked up and brought to Ms. Meyers) All students should use their computer bag and have their power cord with them. Students are responsible for making sure their computer is charged, clean and ready for classroom instruction Students will not eat or drink at computer

Students Not Taking Proper care of Computer Meeting with Ms. Meyers Left computer unattended Damage to computer (broken screens) Loading unauthorized programs, music, or games to computer Deleting or changing profile configuration to a point they are unable to use the computer for instruction. (having to delete profile or send in to re-image) Adding or making changes to another student’s computer Hacking (creating teacher accounts) Students who continually fail to take care of their computers will see Mr. Porter, parents will be called and Mr. Porter may place them on a “Computer Responsibility Contract” and/or students may lose laptop privileges.

Collection Dates Farley will have several collections during the school year. Fall Break October 6-10 Christmas Break December 22 –January 2 Spring Break March 23-27 Student will return issued, computer, bag and cord The purpose of the collection is to keep track of inventory, prevent damage and loss of items. All students issued computers will participate in collection. Same items will be reissued to students.

Repair Procedures Take to Ms. Meyers for evaluation and troubleshooting with in 30 days of damage For repairs student must complete “Student Computer Incident Report” Ms. Meyers will create a work order with insurance form attached Students are responsible for backing up all documents Students will have use of a loaner until their computer is returned Mr. Porter and Ms. Meyers will determine if loaner computer may go home All computers are checked out through Booktracks If loaner is abused student will receive a book Student will return loaner and receive repaired computer

Success 100% turn in rate with no charges for the past two years Farley students are responsible and prepared for their learning experience Insurance damage rate increased during the 2013-2014 SY from 2012-2013 SY. Damage reports now will include if student is a repeat offender and charges may occur due to abuse. Needs Improvement
