IEEE CPMT Board of Governors Meeting, 5/28/2001: Awards and Recognition Motion to IEEE CPMT Board of Governors Defining a CPMT ‘Branding Event’ - possibilities: A CPMT Hall of Fame honoring the pioneers who have made the greatest contribution to microelectronics packaging. A President’s Award for a major contribution to micro- electronics packaging. A Hall of Fame or President’s Award for the most important product breakthroughs. Rather than honoring individuals, this approach would recognize the products that have proven to be the greatest milestones in the history of miniaturization of microelectronics packaging.

IEEE CPMT Board of Governors Meeting, 5/28/2001: Awards and Recognition Motion to IEEE CPMT Board of Governors Rationale This field award contributes to the creation of a “brand” image for the CPMT Society, leverages the IEEE “brand”, gives enormous potential for enhanced publicity, and stimulates outstanding achievements within the Microsystems packaging community.
5
IEEE CPMT Board of Governors Meeting, 5/28/2001: Awards and Recognition Motion to IEEE CPMT Board of Governors Rationale This enhanced “brand” image ultimately should help improve “Packaging” as an important electronics technology and associate the CPMT Society with this image that should result in increased membership and active participation of the members in professional activities of CPMT.
