4 Existing RTOs - Conditions I’m an existing RTO – what changes are in store for me? Condition 1 RTO senior officers, directors and substantial shareholders must satisfy fit and proper person requirements RTO must demonstrate how it ensures the decision making of senior management is informed by trainers and assessors

5 Existing RTOs - Conditions Condition 2 RTO must provide a statement demonstrating its financial viability and/or annual financial statements and/or a business plan on request of the registering body.

6 Existing RTOs - Conditions Condition 5 RTO must be able to demonstrate financial viability on request at all times Specified fee information must be provided to clients Specified options for protection of fees paid in advance

7 Existing RTOs - Conditions Condition 6 The RTO must have a student records management system in place that has the capacity to provide AVETMISS compliant data The RTO must provide returns of client records as required by the registering body The RTO must meet USI (Unique Student Identify) requirements

8 Existing RTOs – Standard 1 Standard 1 1.4 -… can demonstrate current industry skills directly relevant to the training/assessment being undertaken 1.5 -….is systematically validated

9 Existing RTOs – Standard 2 Standard 2 2.1 – The RTO establishes the needs of clients and delivers services to meet those needs 2.3 – changed from ‘enrol or enter into a contract’ to ‘enrol or enter into an agreement’ 2.7 – The RTO provides appropriate mechanisms and services for learners to have complaints Re-number of elements

10 Existing RTOs – Standard 3 Standard 3 3.1 – The RTO’s management of its operations ensures clients receive the services detailed in their agreement with the RTO Re-numbering of elements

12 Existing RTOs – Transition Arrangements Transition arrangements RTOs must comply with all new requirements as of 1 July 2010 Except Condition 5 – options for collecting fees in advance Condition 6 – AVETMISS compliant data and USI RTOs must comply with these by 3 January 2011
