Human toll of the bombing The heat was so powerful that it literally burned the pattern of these women’s clothing onto their skin

The heat of the blast The heat of the bomb was so hot that it left imprints on the concrete of human bodies – it’s believed that someone was sitting on these steps when the bomb went off

Instant Death This boy was about 700 meters from the hypocenter of the blast and was burned to death.

Memorial to the Victims In the background, you can see the domed building that is a monument to the victims and as a sign of hope for world peace
