Who Is Involved All Middle Childhood Program Faculty and Special Education Program Faculty in the School of Education at the University of Cincinnati Close collaboration with a cohort of six IHE’s and Ohio’s Department of Education office for Exceptional Needs

What We Hope To Accomplish A Dual License degree where Middle Childhood graduates Will be eligible for licensure in both Middle School (two content areas), and Special Education license (mild to moderate).

Where we are now Completed 2-year State incentive grant that included: Restructuring/planning dual license Collaboration w/ state IHEs & Ohio IRIS Center-West Collaboration Implementation of transformation zones and Usability Testing Submission to the State for approval

Our Next Steps The real work of implementation lies ahead. Support is needed for: Ongoing professional development Culture change and deepen buy-in Monitor fidelity to design Data collection on outcomes for formative assessment for revision

CEEDAR Assistance CEEDAR assistance related to field experience components was requested. –Without relationships of trust across the state we each end up reinventing “the wheel” –CEEDAR supported collaboration

CEEDAR Assistance CEEDAR can support that work –Provide connections to others around the country who have completed similar work with unique expertise –Help focus ongoing efforts and apply implementation triggers –Support accountability structures
